I use the Autel MaxiTPMS TS501 to relearn original TPMS sensors(Schrader brand) for Subaru Outback winter to summer changeover. I change a full set of tires twice a year. Each time the TPMS system needs to relearn while new set of tires are swapped.
So I find Autel TS501 is an easy & efficient way to avoid spending too much time & money to do this simple job. It is indeed worth every penny!
Following I’ll demonstrate how to use TS501 to relearn sensors on Subaru Outback.
Now the vehicle has a check tire pressure warning light on dashboard.
After selecting vehicle model, take Autel TS501 Service Tool close to tires in turn.
It is very easy and fast to trigger sensors.
Once done, it’ll display sensor info on screen, including ID, pressure, temperature, frequency and voltage.
Go back to connect TS501 with OBD, press
TPMS >> Subaru >> Outback >> 01/2008-06/2015(315MHz) >> No >> TPMS diagnostic >> OBD relearn >> Yes
OBD relearn success.
The warning light has gone!
Autel TS501 can relearn 98% of sensors on US, Asian and European TPMS-enabled vehicles to the vehicle’s ECU.
What’s worth mentioning that TPMS programming will only work with Autel MX-Sensor.
