This is a tutorial on how to use the OTOFIX BT1 tester to do a battery reset for BMW.
Procedure
Step1. Plug V1 VCI into BMW OBD2 port, connect with BT1. A green check mark will appear in the top right corner on the VCI icon. Connect the clamps to the battery.
Step2. Follow the instructions to reset power windows and sunroof:
Press on the OTOFIX BT1 screen,
- Battery Reset >> Accept >> Yes
It’ll auto-identify vehicle info: BMW 2013 X5 30dx(XS F15).
- Next >> Electric appliance reset >> Power windows reset
This function requires a manual reset.
Front
- Ignition on.
- Fully close window and long press close switch for 1s(automatic one-touch position).
- Release switch.
- Fully open window and long press open switch for 1s(automatic one-touch position).
- Release switch.
- Fully close window and long press close switch for 1s(automatic one-touch position).
- Release switch.
- Fully open and close window.
Press “Finish” once done.
Rear
- Close door.
- Ignition on.
- Fully close window and long press close switch for 2s.
- Release switch.
Press “Finish” once done.
Sunroof Reset
- Engine running.
- Fully vent sunroof and long press tilt up switch for 30s.
- Release switch.
Press “Finish” once done.
OTOFIX BT1 Battery Tester screen will display “Completed” after finished.
